Did You Know?

Snow 'progress'

Due to yet another major snow storm on a bargaining day, the Guild bargaining team participated in a private caucus with the federal mediator via speaker phone. The Guild team expressed its displeasure with the company's retrogressive "Final Offer," and explained the several legal issues regarding the offer that the local is investigating with its attorneys.

In some brief "shuttle diplomacy" conducted by the mediator, the company has now extended the invitation to view its audited financials to the entire Guild bargaining team, however still subject to a strict confidentiality agreement. The Guild insists that the confidentiality agreement be broad enough that our bargaining team be allowed to discuss what it might see in the financials with the company team, even if only off the record.

The sides and the mediator have agreed to meet face to face, barring yet another snow storm, next Friday, Feb. 14, at 9:30 a.m. Members are again encouraged to attend the session in the conference room between the editorial and accounting departments.

A reminder that a MAJOR informational picket is being planned for Sunday, Feb 9 at 11:15 a.m, in front of the Radisson on Elm Street in Manchester, during The New Hampshire Union Leader-sponsored "Leaders" sports award presentation.
